Has anyone tried the cabbagew soup diet?

KK asked:

Has anyone tried the New cabbage soup diet or the cabbage soup diet? How did it work for your and how much did you loose? Did you gain it back, or gain it back quickly? I want to use this to jump start my weight loss, as I already exercise about 5 times a week, and I eat pretty healthy.

Yes, I tried it. It is horrendous after about 3-4 days of it. The first few days arent bad. Lost about 10 lbs. Nope, didn’t gain it back.

    Lose weight, Lose Fat

Myself I have not, but someone close to me tried it. She had horrible gas and diarrhea for days, but to her it was “worth it” to lose weight.

But really all she lost was some water weight and muscle, and she gained it back within days.

Really, these fad diets don’t work.

Just eat with common sense, lean proteins, whole grain sources of fiber, fruits and veggies, water….etc…

You say you exercise about 5 times a week, so kudos to you that’s great.

That plus healthy eating should do the trick if you want to lose.

Don’t try the cabbage soup fad diet.

    Lose weight fast

    Greetings,
This diet has been around a long time. Yes, it works for a few weeks. You will lose a few pounds, and put it right back on.
After a few days on the diet, you will have to choke the cabbage soup down.
It is not worth the effort.

    How to Lose Weight

You probably should avoid it. If you are already athletic and you go on the diet you will lose weight as your body will start feeding on muscle mass that you have built up. Then, when you go off the diet you’ll end up rebounding the weight back on.

There’s no such thing as jump starting things. Steady progressive 2/pound a week weight loss is the best way to lose weight and keep it off.

    Lose weight fast

It’s a fad diet- you’ll lose weight, and put it right back on.

That said, cabbage soup cooked at home is in itself a low calorie (usually around 40-50 cal/cup, depending on how watery you make it, how much tomato and broth you use) food that’s good to have occasionally- but eating it constantly will make you sick of it rather quickly.

Negative Calorie Foods

The phrase, "negative calorie food", as highlighted in negative calorie diet programs and books, usually refers to foods that allegedly require more energy to digest than they contain. Since the process of digestion requires the use of calories for energy, sometimes the net amount of metabolizable energy available from a food is less than the gross number of calories contained in the food.
